I’m reading a book right now, and have had the privilege of communicating with the author of the book. We have had some conversations about the content in the book, and wow, what an experience. This is a first for me, I’ve never talked to an author of a book that I have read before, and I tell you, this is my favorite book series now :).

This got me thinking. How much more the Bible would be enjoyed and cherished if we would communicate directly with The Author? Prayer is the way we do that. How’s your prayer life. Mine isn’t always so vibrant. I find that my devotions get dry pretty quick if I am not talking to The Author. And He is not just The Author of the Word of God, He is also the Author of my salvation! What other reason do I need to talk to Him? I should be communing with Him daily, even hourly, or more!

Here are some scripture references that I encourage you to look up. They speak to the importance of prayer, as well as the power of prayer. James 5:16 ” Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” (ESV); Phillipians 4:6 ” do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. ” (ESV); Matthew 6:6 ” But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” (ESV).

Please take this blog as encouragement to keep praying for your son or daughter. Prayer is powerful, it has the power to change lives. Keep praying, God is listening.

Oh, and the book series I was talking about is pictured above: “CHAOS: IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE” by Patrick Higgins. You can find it on Amazon.
