I apologize for the gap in posts, between being busy with some health concerns for my wife (she is sporting a new knee), and having a case of “lack of motivation”, I have been lax in getting something up here.

This seems to be a subject for me as of late. As a matter of fact, my Bible app on my phone gave me this verse as my “verse of the day” this morning: “Cast all your cares anxiety upon him, because He cares for you” 1Peter 5:7.

I do find myself being anxious. Through a variety of circumstances, our son has moved back in with us. I find myself worrying about him more, because he’s living with us. If he goes somewhere, I wonder where he is going. I worry about him falling into temptation. I worry about him keeping his job, and I worry about him being able to pay his bills. I really need to learn that worrying about it, is not something I need to be doing. Here are a few reasons that I can think of why I shouldn’t worry about things.

  1. God is in control. He has this, and is going to provide for our son’s needs, and will take him through a path that he can learn from, and that will ultimately draw him closer to God.
  2. God tells me in my verse of the day, that I am not to worry. I am to put ALL of my cares on Him. That doesn’t just mean some of them, that is ALL of them.
  3. He’s an adult, and while he may make choices that I don’t agree with, they are his choices to make. I can only pray that he listens to God’s direction, and prays about his decisions before making them.

We need to pray for our children, and let God do His work, we don’t need to worry about it. Another verse says “Who by worrying can add a single hour to your life?” Luke 2:25.

Keep the faith, God is at work!
